MY ARRIVAL!

At the time of my birth, in the room were mid-wife - Angela, Daddy, Nana, & Yaca Vi (who cut my umbilical cord). |

Meanwhile, waiting patiently outside were Tutu (grandpa), Bubu (grandma), Tata, Yaca Na, Yaca Y & Yaca Ni. |
They say I look like my Dad, especially my big feet but that I have my Mum's lips & thighs! I'm active & a very hungry little girl. Also known as hairy munchkin by Yaca Na & Yaca Ni - just like the two of them when they were born….lol…

They have called me NAVINIYA by Violet Smith on Thursday, 05 Feburary 2004 (2.50 am) at home. Named after my aunts: NA - NAKI, VI - VIOLET, NI - SEINI, Y - EMILY & A - SOFA |

The story of my arrival
It all began on Monday, 09 February 2004 at about 1730 when Mum was asked by her midwife to go into hospital for just a check up. However she got our bags packed - like FINALLY in case it was time for me to arrive into this world! Mum had to go into hospital because the results from her fourth scan taken earlier that day didn't look too good & so they had to keep an eye on me.
When she arrived at the hospital, she was told that they had to induce her. Which they did, at about 9:30pm. Dad & Yaca Na were present with Mum & I. Tutu & Bubu later joined us. Bubu & Dad stayed back & Tutu & Yaca Na went home. Later in the evening about 11 pm, Yacas Vi, Ni, Y & Nana came to visit us. Nana ended up staying back with Bubu until the next morning & Dad went home with Yacas Vi, Ni, & Y as he was very nervous! As for Mum - the contractions began and so did the pain. She hardly slept - the pain she'll never forget.
Updates:
I'm now a month old and I weigh 3225 gms (7.3 pounds). Dad was the first person to see me smile. On Saturday, 06 March 2004, at home, I laughed for the first time, which Yaca Na witnessed. Other progress - I move around a lot i.e. kicking, turning my head here & there & I stretch a lot. Other comments: I still have my Dad's features but am getting fairer each day! Two weeks ago, I weighed 2825 gms (6.7 pounds).
