Veronika Arrives!!
Guess the onset of the big arrival began when
I started to get random aches in my lower back
during the evening of Friday 28 January 2005.

Not thinking it was much and because it wasn't too extreme
or regular I continued with my daily activities -
cleaning, running around here and there - not to forget
playing around with the video cam with Sereana
& then our late night visit to FoodTown with Vi.

It wasn't really until we were laxing out,
and the aches were a bit more noticeable
that I began to consider that baby may be on her way.

HOWEVER still not thinking it was much,
I told Walter to rest up for the 7's tournament he had the next day
& we even planned breakfast which we were to have at 6:30am!

At 3am, I had a candle lit, Alicia Keys playing
and I was walking around the house
as lying in bed became annoying trying to fight
off these aches in my back.

At 4am, I was making a trip to the toilet >
when lo and behold I felt the release of some fluid:
my waters had broke!

By 4:30am, the scene was different -
everyone was up, I had Vi timing my
contractions, which by this time were regular,
& quite close together.. & trying to do my hair!!

After just about waking the whole neighbourhood,
endless efforts to find a comfortable position,
a (what was supposed to be) soothing bath,
we made a mad.. and I mean MAD dash to the hospital.

We arrived at National Women's at 6am
& our beautiful 8.1pound baby girl was born at 6:14am!

There with me were Veronika Vivian Tiana's daddy,
her Nanna Filomena and Aunty Violet.

We could not believe how fast it all went -
but with the great support of everyone,
all went well.

We suspect that perhaps Veronika wanted to help
out in making her dad's breakfast
at 6:30am as we planned!

Thanks to everyone who supported us
during our pregnancy..

& to Veronika Vivian Tiana
Welcome to the world!
